By downloading, installing, or using the Word Matrix mobile application ("the app"), these terms automatically apply to you — please read them carefully before using the app.

1. Use of the Application

Word Matrix is a vocabulary and brain training puzzle game. By downloading or using the app, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, and non-exclusive license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes on your mobile device.

You must not attempt to copy, modify, or extract the source code of the app, or make derivative versions. The app itself, and all trademarks, copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to it, belong exclusively to the developer.

2. Game Architecture and Cloud Data Responsibility

Word Matrix operates using an offline-first architecture powered by a local database on your device, paired with default cloud integration for user safety.

• Local Processing: All game sessions, high scores, streaks, hints used, and linguistic progress are written directly to your local hardware. We do not host remote backend database servers to store or manage your personal gameplay history.
• Automated Backup: To protect your achievements, Google Drive Cloud Sync is active by default. Your local progress data is automatically saved to your personal Google account quota via a hidden application folder. Disconnecting or disabling your Google infrastructure settings may lead to data reset if the app is deleted.
• Data Loss: If you uninstall the app or clear system storage while cloud synchronization is inactive, disabled, or failing due to connection issues, your history cannot be recovered by the developer.

3. Premium Purchase and Monetization

Word Matrix offers a Premium Upgrade option within the application to expand game mechanics:

• One-Time Fee: For a single, one-time payment of €2.49, users can permanently unlock the 40-card "Pro Mode," remove all marketing promotional materials (banner and pop-up ads), and unlock unlimited hints.
• No Subscriptions: This is a definitive permanent acquisition. There are no recurring fees or automatic subscription cycles.
• Refunds and Transfers: Transactions are handled completely through the Google Play Store commerce network. Your premium purchase state is tied directly to your active Google Account ID and can be transferred to new devices via the Google Play framework using the in-game "Restore Purchases" function.

4. Advertising and SDK Implementations

The free base layer of Word Matrix integrates the Google AdMob developer kit to serve display advertisements (interstitials and banners). For users inside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, data sharing constraints are managed dynamically by the player via the initial Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent dashboard. You can alter or toggle these advertising configurations at any moment through the game settings panel.

5. Limitation of Liability

The app is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer's liability is excluded. The developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the app, including data corruption, scoring mismatches, or backup failures. This exclusion does not apply to damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, or to damages caused by an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by the developer.

6. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany. Any legal disputes arising out of the use of this application shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Berlin, Germany.
